i grew up with the same few kids always around. my parents' best friends growing up had daughters around my age, and we always played tricks on each other and ran around like crazy maniacs.

i was honored when one of those daughters i have known for so long, amber, asked me to photograph her now daughter - mattie - for their birthdays that week. mattie is so cute, a little shy at times, but a look of all-knowingness to her. she loved my big red hat, sometimes resembling dark helmet in it. (nerd joke!) here's a few images of an evening i shared with amber's family at the park - thank you guys so much for letting me capture your little one!
