woof. a mini vacation was definitely in order, guys. so - with work blessings from my boss, and strapped with minimal cash and nine of my closest friends, we road-tripped to KC for schlitterbahn - a two day water slide & river adventure! the weather ended up being beautiful -thaaaank you- and it was SO MUCH fun. great friends, huge laughs, slipping and sliding, a few new crude inside jokes just in time for summer league, & ending with a bit of extra crispy erin on the side - i won't forget it, thank you loves.

the gang on day one.

the gang on day one.

my last day, i went off to explore. i woke up early, and went out to the barn as the fog settled in the distant;  the fog as if it knew, stayed all morning long. after jostling around with the cats, i went off with angus down the road and walked for some time. my parents' property is surrounded by crop fields, and railroad tracks - and the trains sound off more times a day then i ever hear cars down the old gravel roads. there's a long dead-end road in particular, that my mother took me down once - and so my darg and i walked all the way down the thing before turning back.

later on, i drove down through bartlett, with angus' floppy head out the window. bartlett- more train tracks surrounded by few houses and abandoned buildings, a town if you could call it that. you never really know what's around those small forgotten places. i went towards the lake, but kept going. about five miles down, i found a perfect big ole red barn, right at sunset.

pretty great vacation - full of friends, memories, and relaxation. i couldn't have asked for a better four day weekend. thank you!
