i have to say flat out - living in a city as long as i've been in omaha, you can start to take things for granted. i spose it can happen anywhere. when people heard kyle and i were going to san diego this month, one of the first things they said to me was, "ohh ohh be sure to check out their zoo, i hear it's number one."

okay okay - but really, no it's not. don't get me wrong, the zoo was great - great when the animals weren't all sleeping/not out in their enclosures and we weren't lost (which was about half the time). the omaha zoo just hits it out of the park man, our zoo is so amazing.. i didn't even realize it until i went through this one. cost was a major factor in this as well; as from what i could tell - san diego itself as a city minus housing costs - prices aren't too much different from here in omaha. not at the zoo. no sir ree.

really all this zoo has on us is the pandas, which are pretty darn cute. we wandered around the zoo for a good four or five hours, our paws were definitely sore after that. nothing a good stop at the beach couldn't cure though! thanks to kadiy and mike for hosting us and taking us all around town! you guys are the best. kyle shot on my pentax, a few of his images are mixed in here with mine. a full post from the trip is coming up!
